Update for Saturday |
|
|
|
| |
It was a beautiful day today and we walked to
Port Republic (9 miles) and Jean drove us home. It was
really strange walking without multiple layers of clothing.
I kept thinking that I had forgotten something! But the
usual beautiful scenery and I’ll publish some pictures
within the hour. We’re feeling pretty proud of ourselves.
But sleet predicted for tomorrow: we may not be so happy
then!

So Friday the “old” gang met in C’ville for
the memorial service for MJ’s mother and it was a lovely
service with MJ being her usual eloquent self. So everyone
made plans to meet later for dinner and Judith and I ran
some errands, read: wine, cheese, bread and yogurt. Anyway,
I was looking for more Anton Bauer Riesling and the wine man
checks his computer and announces: “the 05’s are gone, but
the 06”s are on the boat headed this way”. Somehow that
struck everyone in the store as good humor as in “it’s in
the mail” or “it’s on the boat. Good news: after three
stops we found the last four bottles in C’ville! Bad news:
the “boat” is not due for six weeks! And yes, I do drink
other stuff: I’m drinking a glass of milk as I write! |

Otherwise, the week was fairly normal, at
least as normal as my life gets. Thanks for the new
donations. Each mile we walk, we walk for all of you.

Supporters:
We
had 2-3 inches of snow and "she" let us play hookey for the
day...no walking and therefore no walking stories to report.
So I plowed out the driveway and now I'm contemplating a
nap!

I probably will not be emailing you next week
(unless something exciting happens) because next Friday is
the start of spring break for JMU and the group has playing
on its’ collective mind.
Sandra is going to Anguilla (poor
thing) and Eva and Bill are going to their house on the
Chesapeake. Therefore only Judith and I will be walking
next Saturday and Sunday and I'm taking part of Saturday and
Sunday off to go solve the problems of the world with a
friend in Nelson County while Judith stays home to amuse her
“sistah” dogs. |

Then the plans for the week include: maybe
go to D.C. to hear Chris Pureka; maybe go to Northampton to
look for a house, or maybe go to Allentown, PA. and eat
tapioca (it’s a long story).

Again, thanks for your support. I hope you
have a good week and that something exciting happens in your
life. |
