Saturday 24th March

Greetings to my supporters -from the hot tub!

Ha, I wish.  Unfortunately it has sprung a leak and has been consigned to hot tub death!  But we walked a bit over 5 hours today and it was exciting because it was 30 degrees warmer than anything we have done since January and we had cloud cover.  So it actually was very pleasant for walking.  At least one didn’t freeze one’s rear while peeing!

These two wanted to come home with me. I'd have let them, but . .

I discovered about 10 minutes into the walk that my camera needed charging, so no new pictures today.  The others got rather annoyed with my constant “there’s a great picture, IF I had a camera”.  Roz will post some tomorrow when I get them.
Otherwise, Sandra got huffy when she thought she was going to be denied an Aleve; Eva walked with only 2 layers of clothing and the shorts came out of the closet for the remainder of us.  Nothing unusual or funny happened during the week so you got lucky.  Tonight we have to be ready to socialize at 6:30 so I’m off to nap.  Unfortunately, my napping partner (Kyle) has gone to Costco for dog bones or something.

Until tomorrow:  stay safe and happy.  K.A.

  Sunday 25th March

So here’s really what happened this weekend.  Jeanne “Mean” Moeller, the newest member of team Flohr (she’s our official everything but walker) designed our routes for Saturday/Sunday.  Part of the route we had walked before, part was new.  The new part that Jeanne added was ALL uphill, even the downs were up!  She sat at her computer and designed the route: did not drive it; and then left town for upstate N.Y. for the weekend!

There are level roads in this county:  now, Jeanne “Mean” --get in your car and find them!
But we are proud of ourselves:  We walked over 5 hours Saturday, then gathered to enjoy Annick’s fine cooking and a superb white chocolate liqueur and were back on the road this morning at 8:30 a.m.  We’re either first-rate physical specimens, or really stupid, and we prefer to think the former!

So we are 4 weeks away from our final BIG training walk in Nelson County on April 22.  We plan to spend the night of the 21st at Wintergreen and hit the roads early Sunday morning.

A mad mute swan!
If you’re in the area, just look for 4 pink hats on what appears to be 4 crazy women walking the Nelson County roads!  And drop us off some cold water!

Judith is out of town next Friday/Saturday, so we’re on our own on Saturday!  Oh, if you see her, ask her how to read signs!  Even with her glasses on!

Have a good week (or not) if you prefer . . . .

Anne
IF I DON'T, WHO WILL?
