Saturday 17th March,  St. Paddy's Day!

Greetings my Chilly Supporters:

Talk about a great weekend to walk!!!

That’s sarcasm for those of you who are a bit slow!  Around Friday noon members of the team started calling each other about the weather and we, each from her own part of the county, watched nervously as the sleet, and then the snow, covered the ground.  We kept assuring each other that we could do it: in reality we’re coming up on the deadline and we have to do it! After all, our final LONG practice walk is on Sunday April 22 through Nelson County.  We’re doing the long walk on Sunday, because we have Catie Curtis in town (in performance) the previous Thursday and Friday and I expect that 10 –12 miles is all we will be able to handle the Saturday after Catie.

Enjoy Eva’s St Pat's hat!

And  so Saturday morning came. St. Pat’s Day. And we did it.  Three hours and 36 minutes in the cold, but on a lovely route thanks to Sandra.  Tomorrow we do Five hours!

Catie Curtis:  needless to say the excitement within a 100 miles radius is growing about the Catie Curtis concerts on April 18, 20th.  The Faculty Women’s Caucus, a group that works for the civil rights of women is sponsoring Catie for two nights:  free to everyone. Since our entire team is active in the Caucus (Judith being Pres), we’re very happy to bring this event to JMU.

  Sunday 18 March
Cold, breezy and we walked 13 miles: half way to our goal! Cold miles, but beautiful: a posted picture called “what’s left to say” sums it up. See at Yahoo.  Ate lunch at a church (also posted). Came home frozen and tired and now Kyle and I am off for a nap.

Some of you emailed concerning the times for CC: she will be performing at 7 on Thursday 19th (listed incorrectly last time) and 8 on Friday 20th in Memorial Hall (on route 42) that now belongs to JMU.

I can’t wait until Catie sees that the name of the auditorium is WAR Memorial Hall!! We’ll probably hear her screams around the county.  But, she’s already signed the contracts!  You can go to catiecurtis.com: click on gigs and find out all information.

  Until next week:  keep warm.

Thanks for your support.  Love.

Anne
IF I DON'T, WHO WILL?
